Anushka started modeling in the year 2017 at Wendell Rodricks Les Vamps Show. Also, she was selected to model the Spring Summer 2007 by Rodricks. Anushka Sharma along with her modeling profession, enrolled in an acting academy and began giving auditions for films. Anushka sharma made her film debut in 2008, with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. In order to get ready for her screen test, she stayed up all day. In the following days she was a part of three films by Yash Raj Films. In the film, she was portrayed as a young lady who got married to a middle-aged man (the role Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared in the 2010 film "Badmash Company" with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. This movie was met with mixed reviews. The same year Anushka Sharma was seen in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat' along with Ranveer Singh where she played an upper-middle class Punjabi girl who launches her own business of wedding planning. The film was an unexpected success and received good reviews. Anushka has completed her 3-film contract together with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
